GROUP OUTING INFO

All outings are first-come, first-serve. Your outing choice will be confirmed and additional details provided closer to the Roundtable event.

OPTION #1: Palm Springs Modernism & Celebrity Electric Bike Tour: (15 Tickets) 1 – 4 p.m.

This beautiful tour takes you through some of the most prominent and old neighborhoods in Palm Springs of a bygone era of celebrities of yesteryear and a few even of today. You will bike through these beautiful neighborhoods, stop, take photos, and discuss interesting facts. Elvis Presley, Dean Martin, Clark Gable, Liberace, Marilyn Monroe, are just a few of the incredible homes included in this lovely ride back in time. This is an easy ride on quiet residential streets, and the terrain is almost entirely flat. Guests will see some celebrity homes, and examples of several key architects important to the development of Palm Springs in the 1950s and 1960s. Based upon group size, transportation may be arranged from hotel to bike tour starting location. Details will be provided closer to the event.

OPTION #2: Palm Springs Aerial Tramway: (20 Tickets) Open-ended

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway—the world’s largest rotating tram car—travels over two-and-one-half miles along the breathtaking cliffs of Chino Canyon, transporting riders to the pristine wilderness of the Mt. San Jacinto State Park. During your approximately ten-minute journey, tram cars rotate slowly, offering picturesque and spectacular vistas of the valley floor below. Once you reach the Mountain Station—elevation 8,516 feet—enjoy two restaurants, observation decks, natural history museum, two documentary theaters, gift shop and over 50 miles of hiking trails. Tickets are open-ended, allowing attendees to schedule your visit for your preferred time. It is approximately 40 minutes from the hotel to the location (group transportation not provided). Plan about 1.5-2 hours at a minimum to enjoy. Additional time can be spent hiking the many trails.

OPTION #3: The Living Desert Zoo & Gardens: (15 Tickets) Open-ended

The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens has been a beloved institution in Southern California for over 50 years. An Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) accredited zoo and botanical garden, The Living Desert represents the desert environments of North America, Australia, and Africa with more than 150 species, 1,200 protected acres, and miles of hiking trails. Conservation is at the heart of everything we do at The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens. We are actively engaged in 80+ projects around the world including international field conservation efforts, local habitat restoration, and on-site initiatives. Tickets are open-ended, allowing attendees to schedule your visit for your preferred time. It is approximately 12 minutes from the hotel to the location (group transportation not provided). Plan about 2-3 hours at a minimum to enjoy.

OPTION #4: Desert Willow Golf Resort: (12 Tee-Times) Approx. 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Desert Willow Golf Resort’s 36 holes were created by nationally recognized designers Michael Hurdzan, Ph.D.; Dana Frye; and PGA Touring Professional John Cook. Desert Willow was recognized by the prestigious Smithsonian magazine with the honor of a cover photograph and lauded for its environmentally sensitive design. The integration of design with native plant landscaping, the finest turf, the use of recycled water, and original artworks is the distinctive difference giving cause for such acclaimed attention. This unique combination also attracted the attention of National Geographic Magazine. Recent awards include Golf Digest “Best Places to Play — 4½ Stars”; LA Times “Southern California Top Ten Places to Play; and Palm Springs Life “Best Public Course”. Tee times planned for 8:00-8:20, playing 18-holes. It is approximately 12 minutes from the hotel to the location. Golfers may bring their own clubs or rentals will be provided. Foursomes will be set up and communicated in order to carpool to location.
